To work in a racing training stable and with race horses you really need to have a love for horses, and for early morning starts. Most stables will begin work at 4.00am, avoiding the heat of the day. These early morning starts allow stable hands and track riders the opportunity to have another job or to do further study during the day.
Stable Hands
Duties include grooming, feeding and attending the races with the horse, ensuring the horse is calm and well looked after. Some Stable Hands also ride track work.
